The new mixtape from one of my favorite up-and-coming hip-hop artists B.o.B. is out today, and you can download “B.o.B. vs Bobby Ray” for free right here
When I first heard “Generation Lost” off of his “Who the Fuck is B.o.B.” mixtape, I was convinced that it was the best song of 2008, and we’re still talking mixtape quality here. His debut album The Great Adventures of B.o.B. is set to drop some time in the next couple of months, and I’m telling you, it’s gonna be huge. But, until then, sit back, ignore the video (or download the song) and I guarantee that after one listen you’ll be hooked. If not, then go f’ yourself. But, afterwards, make sure to come back to my blog.
And, well, as far as B.o.B. goes, I feel like I’ve been pushing him pretty hard for a while now (i’ve linked to “I’ll be in the Sky”, showed him on the cover of XXL and posted about how I’m attached to B.o.B.’s nuts). So, hit up his MySpace Page, peep his blog and then thank Blogbdon because if you don’t know, now you know…
Granted you have to be familiar enough with hip-hop to understand the humor in this, but, brilliant parody of the autotune-obsession in mainstream hip-hop and hysterical/spot-on impression of Lil’ Wayne aside, the song still manages to be good enough to show off just how talented B.o.B. is.
Watch this shit:
Charles Hamilton, B.o.B., Wale & Asher Roth are finally getting some of the respect they deserve, especially considering I called them all before anyone else (I wanted to insert a link there to a post from a year ago where I talk about how all of these guys will be nasty, but I can’t seem to find it). Well it seems as though people are catching on: all four are featured on one of XXL’s three “Hip-Hop Class of ’09″ covers this month. Peep the cover, peep the article and then peep the dope tunes below:
