New OK Go Music Video is Greatest Video of All Time

Ok, first off, I’ll admit that I am certainly one to use hyperbole on occasion (e.g. the post below this one), but if you don’t agree with the title of this post then you are just a shitass. Now, you may have heard of OK Go, and, if so, the reason you have is probably the only reason I’ve heard of them as well: their incredible video for “Here it Goes Again,” that bomb-ass video where they all dance/skate on treadmills synchronized with the music, etc (refresh your memory below). Well that video has officially been moved down to #2 on the list of greatest music videos of all time (Michael Jackson’s “Jam” video featuring Michael Jordan notwithstanding) to make room for OK Go’s most recent effort, the video for “This Too Shall Pass,” which somehow outdoes their previous effort with the most amazing spectacle of Rube Goldberg-like shit I’ve ever seen (and that includes Ethan’s favorite Honda commercial, which is bomb also, but not quite as awesome):

A few weeks back, OK Go lead singer Damien Kulash made an impassioned plea to his record label in the op-ed section of the New York Times to please, please, PLEASE allow bloggers and other unsavory social-media types to embed their YouTube music videos. You see, the label had shortsightedly disabled the embed feature that made the band popular in the first place, which Kulash effectively argued was limiting the band’s appeal and revenue-generating ability. Well, coincidentally enough, the band just so happens to have a new(ish) LP out and, what do you know, today they released a brand-new video! And guess what? After taking a beating in the court of public opinion, their record label caved and now this newly minted “controversial” video that you’re about to see will be embedded on thousands of websites within the next twelve hours or so. Controversy aside, the band has actually done the impossible and managed to top their groundbreaking “Here It Goes Again” by developing what will no doubt go down in history as the mother of all Rube Goldberg contraptions. On top of that, we’re fairly certain that this video’s majesty will inspire Hollywood to start fast-tracking a Mouse Trap feature film by week’s end.

First-Person Perspective of Horrific Bus Crash (Video)

This is an absolutely horrific video of a bus crashing into about 20 cars on the highway, seen through the security camera mounted on the front of the bus and then replayed from separate cameras mounted near the side-view mirrors on either side, the views from which are even wilder than the first:

That is the tagline for comedian Aziz Ansari’s (Parks and Recreation, the fruit stand guy in Flight of the Conchords) upcoming hip-hop mixtape, co-produced by TV on the Radio’s Dave Sitek and featuring his alter-ego “Raaaaaaaandy,” (FYI: yes, that does link to laughyourdickoff.com, but, no, it is not a porn site; it is Raaaaaaaaandy’s site) the stand-up comedian character played by Ansari in Judd Apatow’s Funny People. Here was his announcement of the mixtape on his blog in December:

Dave Sitek and I are working on a mixtape together. That’s all we’re saying for now, but if everything we have in mind comes together, I can promise three things: 1. Y’all ain’t ready. 2. Motherfuckers need to know. 3. Get yo’ shit.

Maybe it’s just me, but I think he’s funny as shit. And yes, I realize that this is the same humor that Lonely Island tackled with “I’m on a Boat,” but, guess what, I loved “I’m on a Boat” too.

Today, he released an update on the mixtape, announcing that they need to “push that shit back,” and this is where you can really see the potential of this collaboration (and, yes, that’s really him spinning):

Obviously, I’m kidding…nothing is better than the show itself. Well, maybe like “Citizen Kane” or something like that, but you’d have to put up pretty much a perfect argument on Kane’s behalf because this stuff is pure poetry.

If you agree, I’d also recommend FUCK YEAH, JERSEY SHORE and then proceed to say goodbye to a solid hour of your life.

Bomb Ass Honda Commercial

This is one of the bombest (yes it’s a word, look it up) commercials I’ve seen in a long time. Called “The Cog”, it actually turns out that the commercial is over six years old and originally aired in the U.K. in three separate pieces due to its length. I assume that this is a slight nod to the old cartoons of Rube Goldberg, but then again I might be the only person in the world that remembers Rube Goldberg. Regardless, it’s pretty damn impressive:

The game is “Guess that Director,” and since the 0 degree weather in Copenhagen doesn’t exactly lend itself to games, I’m just going to give you one hint: the motherfucker loves explosions . No? Ok, well it’s Michael Bay , and it seems as though Victoria’s Secret has decided to shift their marketing campaign towards subtle, inside-film-joke humor, as they have allowed Bay to direct one of their new ads in what must be one of the funniest commercials ever produced. As per usual, Bay stays true to form, disregarding his subject matter and shoving in hard rock and bombs:
