Yup, he’s getting every last bit out of that MVP award while people still remember it…..
As far as the commercial itself goes: either I laughed when I first saw this because it was funny or because there was a Phillie in it and my yelp of excitement in response happened to come out as a laugh. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to watch it again right now to tell you which it was, so find out for yourself.
P.S. You heard it here first: WE’RE GETTING A.J. BURNETT. His gem yesterday against the Yanks coupled with a miraculous, come-from-behind home victory for the Phils couldn’t have come on a more perfect day (the last before the All-Star Break), just to leave the idea of a still-dominant number two starter solidifying a Phils team (with an offense that can literally never be counted out of a game) that is consistently selling out its games in July lingering in the minds of Phillies management for the next four days.
And I’m not the only one who is convinced we have no chance if we don’t go after a starter like Burnett.
I think this is an awesome commercial - J-roll can actually act.
