In case you’ve ever wondered whether or not famous art was actually stolen from museums, a heist over the weekend in Zurich netted three thieves a group of paintings by Cezanne, Degas, Monet and Van Gogh, valued at just around $163 million. What I have always found interesting about art thievery, if it were to take place, was what kind of value do these people get from stealing this art, considering that trying to sell any of it would not only be impossible but would immediately and automatically land them in jail. Well, apparently I’m not the only one who has wondered “Why steal famous paintings?
