U.S.C. 33(L) R.O.T.D. (2006)
1. The Purpose of this bill is:
a. To celebrate the particular tightness of certain extraordinary lines from rap songs, from the beginning of the genre in the mid 1980’s to today, giving particular attention to the criteria [set out in § 4(a-e), infra], AND
b. To provide an opportunity for the exploration and education of hip-hop genius that floats through the airwaves of the ghetto; AND
c. To provide the requesting party with a stage for giving credit to a line that he thinks is deserving of such unprecedented recognition; AND
d. To get in touch with one’s inner-!@#$%.
2. Jill (Pery) is, by no means, and under no circumstances, permitted to write anything on the board, let alone add any sort of contribution whatsoever to the rhyme of the day;
a. Further, said third party is prohibited from even commenting on the selection of the day and/or thinking about it.
i. NOTE: Any violation of this section will result in her having to vacuum the entire apartment
3. The quote itself:
a. shall not exceed approximately 3-4 lines, or 24-32 words, whichever comes first; AND
i. (the decision to permit extra lines/words shall lie in the exclusive discretion of the requesting party if it is so determined that more lines/words are needed in order to emphasize the tightness of a particular bar)
b. should be changed daily, on an alternating basis, unless:
i. the schedule of the requesting party does not permit such posting; or
ii. the requesting party simply forgets.
NOTE: Failing to post a new rhyme shall be governed by the common law statute of limitations, which begins running once the previous rhyme’s final quotation mark is printed; although the S.O.L. is infinite in that no bar can ever be barred, its adherence is policy-driven: it is still his turn until he posts a new bar.
4. The requesting party shall choose such rhyme based on, but not limited to, the following criteria (listed in order of significance):
a. The idiosyncratic views of the requesting party himself;
b. The flow of the particular rap in question;
c. The creativeness of the lyrics;
d. Its significance within the context of the overall song
5. The lines in question need not originate from a “rap song,” per se, so long as:
a. the quotation itself originates in a hip-hop verse; AND
b. any such verse present (particularly those in a “non-rap song,”) is, indisputably, a “rap verse.”
i. I.e., Jay-Z’s verse in Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker
6. The following criteria are not required to be taken into account as factors in deciding a rhyme of the day (though such factors should be given much consideration as they are viewed as “good-faith” criterion and should be given particular weight at the requesting party’s discretion):
a. The social resonance of said, song or artist, be it negative or positive, as seen through the eyes of present-day popular culture;
i. I.e. a line is not precluded from a positive finding simply because it originates in a song that has been deemed “mainstream” or such.
1. See U.S. v. Mason Betha (unanimous holding that “Feels So Good” considered “quality music” rather than “filthy !@#$%-trash”)
b. The third-party’s potential un/familiarity with said song/verse/line, specifically noting that:
i. The goal of this act is, simply, to assert the sickness of certain lines, not to familiarize the other with said lines;
ii. That the other party may not be familiar with the lines shall figure as an incidental surprise for the other and shall be regarded as merely coincidental, in an effort to avoid the “I found it first” factor from dominating the selection process; AND
iii. It shall be duly noted that one’s unfamiliarity with a certain line may actually detract from that person’s enjoyment/appreciation of the rhyme of the day, but, once again, such a factor should not play an overriding part in the selection process

What a brilliant code!
